We are located north of Kansas City in the peaceful setting of the scenic Missouri River Bluff wine country. We offer friendly hospitality, gourmet foods, and entertaining and enlightening events. Spring & Summer Sunday Music On the Lawn Series -- Live Music with the Jeff Lux Group
Sunday, May 19, 1-4 pm, $5.00
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and umbrellas for shade as we kick off our Spring & Summer Sunday Music on the Lawn Series!  For our inaugural performance for this series we will begin with the full Jeff Lux Group!  We have heard rave reviews about Jeff and the other members of his full band and we are looking forward to outstanding musical entertainment for this weekend!  Bring your picnic or enjoy some of the excellent selection of cheeses, salamis, crackers from our tasting room.  Gentle spring breezes and warm weather, wine and excellent live music on a Sunday afternoon -- now that's hard to beat!

All Weekend: Wine Slushies!
Now that the warmer weather is here it's time to bring back wine slushies made with Riverwood wine and Wine-A-Rita slushie mix.  Cold, sweet and delicious!   We'll have the slushies available for sale by the glass and we'll also have the packaged mixes in a variety of flavors available for sale from our gift shop as well.

Hello!
Spring is well under way and everything is going well in the vineyard -- our Norton, Foche, Cayuga White, Traminette and Frontenac vines are pruned and growing well.  Next we'll work on establishing the trellis system on our Vidal Blanc and St. Vincent plantings.  The new Norton vines we planted in front of the Tasting Room location have the grow tubes installed and the plants should soon begin sending up shoots!
 
We continue working on the tobacco barn event space at our vineyard location.  We've completed the railing on the large patio overlooking the vineyards, the electrical work and lighting is completed, and the parking arrangements are being worked out.  Soon we'll be able to begin taking reservations for weddings, receptions, parties, corporate retreats and similar events.  We are also looking forward to holding wine dinners, scotch and bourbon tastings, picking parties and other special events in the historic tobacco barn; and vineyard and orchard tours, bird-watching and butterfly-watching events, and hikes on the paths and trails throughout the fields, forests and hills of the 120-acre property!

New Wine Releases!
We have several new bottlings available at the Tasting Room:

Sweet Tempered Red
This new bottling is a  delicious blend of 2012 Estate Grown Norton (45%), 2012 Chambourcin from Mound City vineyards (35%) and 2012 Estate Grown Maréchal Foch (20%). No oak was used in the aging process resulting in a fresh and fruity semi-sweet wine with wonderful aromas of berries, chocolate and coffee. This is a nice picnic wine that pairs well with cheeses, salamis, nuts or dessert!

White Eminence
A luscious white Port-style wine made with American Oak-aged Chardonel as a base wine and fortified with neutral grape spirits (i.e., distilled grape juice). Rich flavors of honey and butterscotch with a smooth, lingering finish. Wonderful with a Salumi/Charcuterie Tray or a small plate of spiced walnuts with Parmesan or Maytag Blue cheese.

Single Malt Scotch Sampler
Try a sampler of Single Malt Scotch Whisky!  Six or three 1/2 ounce drams presented on a white oak plank along with a description of each of the whiskies and a bottle of purified water.  We have a wonderful selection of whisky from each of the regions of Scotland with an array of fascinating aromas and flavors, from smoky and peaty, to light and dark, to sweet, nutty, fruity and chocolatey!  $18.00 for the six dram sampler; $9.00 for the three dram sampler; $15.00 for a single 2 ounce dram.

The Great Northwest Missouri Wine Trail
Please visit the wineries on Missouri's newest wine trail -- The Great Northwest Missouri Wine Trail.  The wineries on the trail are Riverwood, Belvoir, Fence Stile, Jowler Creek, Ladoga Ridge, Pirtle, Van Till Family Farm, and Windy Wine Company.  We are looking forward to some great wine trail events in the months and years ahead!  Check out the wine trail website nwmissouriwine.com for more information. 

A True "Taste of Place" - Come taste for yourself!
Our wines are fermented, barreled, aged, blended and bottled either at our tasting room location or at our vineyard location. Truly local wines, with a genuine "Taste of Place'!  We have something for all palates -- a crisp dry white Chardonel; a semi-sweet white, a medium-bodied dry oak-aged red Chambourcin; a robust, full-bodied red Cynthiana/Norton with a hint of sweetness; a lightly sweet blend of Chambourcin and Norton, and three rich and luscious port-style wines (a white, a red, and a chocolate cherry).  We use oak barrels made in Missouri for our barrel aged wines -- Missouri wine aged in Missouri oak! Please come out to try each of our local, handcrafted wines. 

Weston Brewing Company Beer Now Available!
We now have available in our cooler a variety of beers from the Weston Brewing Company!  For you beer lovers, try something that was craft brewed just 7.5 miles down the road from the winery!  It doesn't get much more local than that!

Hand Rolled Cigars by Corey Frisbee from the Weston Tobacco Shop
We have a humidor stocked with a selection of fresh hand rolled cigars from Weston Tobacco.  We have a range of cigars, from sweet to heavy.  Enjoy a locally produced hand rolled cigar in our outdoor seating area.  Try a cigar with a Riverwood Red or White Eminence port-style wine or with a dram of our selection of single malt scotches!

Developments at our Vineyard Location

Work on the tobacco barn as an event location for weddings, receptions, wine dinners, and corporate retreats is nearing completion.  Once all of the work on the historic barn is finished we'll start taking reservations.

• We offer full tastings of all of our wines (including the port-style wines) from the tasting room and gift shop, and have available a wide range of wine-related gifts and products. 

• The Winery offers gourmet food items which complement our wines, such as cheeses, crackers, sausages, and chocolates.

• You are welcome to bring your own picnic or put together a tray from our selection of gourmet food items.

• No outside alcohol is allowed.  All alcohol must be purchased from Riverwood Winery.
