the door and new wines are released. Check our site for updates.
White Wines
Dry Witty White – Chardonel – The Chardonel grape is
a cross between the Chardonnay and Seyval grape varieties. This wine was
aged in oak barrels. Aromas of apple, refreshing lemon, and a light
smokiness. Food pairing suggestions: heavier fish dishes such as grilled
salmon; parmesan chicken; Cobb salad. $14.75/btl $6.00/glass
Riverwood Reserve Chardonel – This is a full-bodied wine with a
buttery, creamy texture and aromas of butterscotch and vanilla. This wine
pairs nicely with fish such as salmon or tuna, dishes with rich sauces such
as shrimp scampi, or pasta with cream sauces. $15.00/btl $6.50/glass
Riverwood Reserve Vidal Blanc/Seyval Blanc – A blend of 65% Vidal
Blanc and 35% Seyval Blanc, this semi-sweet wine has spicy aromas of
cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Try this one with Chinese food, sautéed pork
cutlets, or salty snacks (such as dry roasted peanuts!). This wine was not
cold-stabilized during fermentation so you can expect to find harmless
tartrate crystals in the form of sediment at the bottom of the bottle (known
as “gravel” in the industry). $14.00/btl $6.00/glass
Riverwood Reserve Traminette – Sweet and luscious
with aromas of pineapple, citrus and apple. A hybrid grape, the Traminette
displays many of the characteristics of its parent, the Gewürztraminer. To
add complexity to the typically floral aromas and fruity flavors of the
Traminette, we blended it with a small amount (8%) of Vignoles wine. A nice
wine to serve chilled with salty snacks or with spicy Asian and Indian
dishes. $14.00/btl $6.00/glass
Red Wines
Riverwood Reserve Chambourcin – The Chambourcin is a
French/American hybrid grape that grows well in this part of the country.
This wine was aged with medium-toast American Oak chips for several months
and is unfiltered (so there will be sediment at the bottom of the bottle).
Wonderful earthy smoke aromas. Food pairing suggestions: grilled beef or
lamb, smoked meats. $15.25/btl $6.50/glass
Riverwood Reserve Cynthiana – Produced from Norton grapes (also known
as Cynthiana) from our Platte County vineyard, this deep red wine has the
dark cherry aromas typical of the Cynthiana/Norton. This wine’s sweetness
was adjusted with unfermented Cabernet Sauvignon juice for an additional
element of flavor. Aged in stainless steel tanks with medium-toast American
oak chips. Food pairing suggestions: red meats, pasta with red sauces, dark
chocolate. $14.00/btl $6.00/glass
Port-Style Wines
Chambourcin Dessert Wine – A rich, warm dessert wine
crafted from Missouri Chambourcin grapes and a small amount of unfermented
Cabernet Sauvignon juice. Fortified with grape spirits and aged in the tank with
American oak chips. A nice wine to enjoy with chocolate after dinner or
anytime. With an alcohol content of 18 percent, this wine will keep you warm
and cozy! $18.00/btl $7.50/glass
Fruit Wines
Avid Apple – Crisp and clean. A semi-sweet wine made
from a special blend of Red Delicious, Jonathan and Golden Delicious apples
from Stephenson’s Orchard in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Try this wine with
foods that are traditionally paired with apples – perhaps a roast pork loin
or a mild cheddar cheese. $12.49/btl $5.50/glass
Buoyant Blackberry – Just picked flavor! This
blackberry wine is made from Missouri grown fruit. It is sweet but tart.
Great as a dessert wine or after-dinner wine, and makes a wonderful spritzer
when mixed with sweet sparkling wine or Sprite. Food pairing suggestions:
chocolates, cheese cake. $12.00/btl $5.50/glass
10% discount on cases – mixed or single variety
5% discount on 1/2 cases - mixed or single variety
