Our Story
Located just north of Kansas City near historic Weston, Riverwood Winery is a family-owned destination where handcrafted wines, one of northern Missouri's largest whiskey selections, artisan food, and live music come together in a setting unlike any other.
Riverwood opened in 2007 inside a beautifully restored elementary school, but its story began years earlier when David and Ginah discovered an abandoned vineyard on their Weston property—a moment that inspired the dream of creating a winery built on craftsmanship, hospitality, and community.
Today, we're proud to welcome guests for wine tastings, gourmet food, live entertainment, and memorable experiences while remaining committed to sustainable winemaking and exceptional hospitality.
October is one of our favorite times of year at Riverwood Winery.
As the leaves begin to change and the cooler fall weather settles in, there’s something especially beautiful about spending an afternoon or evening at the winery. Whether you’re joining us for a glass of wine, live music, or simply a relaxing fall day in the country, there’s plenty happening all month long.

Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast or simply looking to try something new, Riverwood is home to one of the largest whiskey selections in northern Missouri. Explore rare bourbons, smooth single malts, and celebrated whiskeys from around the world—all served in a relaxed winery setting that's unlike anywhere else.
Pair your pour with one of our artisan flatbreads or charcuterie boards, settle in with friends, and discover why Riverwood is more than just a winery.

Try Our Wine!
Visit our wine bars for a tasting of 5 wines for $10. Experience a tour through wines made on site at Riverwood, and order by the glass, flight, or bottle!
There's Whiskey Too?
We don't distill our own, but we do have over 800 whiskies in our sampling collection, all available to taste or try in a flight. Sip on samples or try one of our classic cocktails at the Whiskey Bar!
Kitchen Items
Order gourmet charcuterie and other fare from our kitchen at any bar to be delivered directly to your table once you're comfortable in one of our public seating spaces. Gluten free options are available by request.

HOW TO VISIT
During your time with us, please visit our Tasting Room for all purchases. Whether you are tasting or ordering drinks or food, we invite you to inquire at the public bars. Indoor and outdoor seating is available for you to enjoy your purchases, and live music is performed regularly all weekend long!
